Ex-Spur Hill in the Rio Grande Valley

GHAfter being traded to the Indiana Pacers last month, former San Antonio Spurs guard George Hill is still making his mark in South Texas.

Hill is currently at his Rio Grande Valley charity event in which he is stopping by six south Texas cities.

Hill told the Brownsville Herald, this is something he hopes to continue to do.

“This is something I want to continue to do,” Hill said. “I want to thank everybody for all the support they have given me. We had a good turnout in Brownsville and it would be great to see people in the Valley again.”

Hill visited Laredo on Friday and Corpus Christi on Sunday. He is visiting Port Isabel today and Brownsville tomorrow. He will stop by McCallen on Wednesday. On Thursday, there will be a party in McAllen for the folks from the Valley to tell Hill farewell.

At 9 p.m. Thursday in McAllen, the George Hill Final Farewell Benefit Party will take place at Club Ibiza, 101 S. 17th St. Special live performances. Presale tickets $20 can be purchased by calling 956-400-9870. Ticket prices at door $50 women, $75 men. Must be 18 years to enter.
